Women’s artistic gymnastics- you have to have muscular endurance for bars because you are constantly using the muscles in your arms and beam because you are constantly squeezing you muscles to stay on and keep good form – straight legs and pointed toes. You need power for vault. You need cardiovascular fitness for floor exercise. You need superb flexibility. You must have a very good condition and overall strength because all muscles are used. You must have great spacial awareness. You must be a master of your body and have full control. But above all you must train super hard at a young age to achieve perfection – the youngest elite I have seen is nine years old (Shallon Olsen).
If you don’t believe how hard this sport is just watch the parkettes documentary on youtube. zzaremba
