I applied just today, and i was wondering since it is an online application, they have no idea who you are. Should i go in and introduce myself? Or should i call them and tell them im doing a followup on my application? Ive worked only in retail stores before so i dont know how fitness clubs differ from retail. Any help would be great, if you work or worked at 24, even better. Thanks in advance for the advice.

What career options are there in exercise / fitness?

sandiego_guy12 asked:

I am a college student and am looking at careers in the fitness industry. I previously had wanted to major in business but the thought of spending all day in an office working working for some corporation is becoming very depressing to me and I feel it would lead to a low level of satisfaction in my life as I age. I consider myself to be intelligent and dedicated and am want to receive a bachelor’s degree as well as any other necessary education so what I am wondering is what career options are there for me outside of being a basic personal trainer and what type of income can these jobs provide? Any input is appreciated.
I wanted to mention that I live in southern California and would be willing to move around the area as I get older.. I get the feeling that there are a lot of opportunities in this area in the fitness field in comparison to other areas (I used to live elsewhere)

Do employers ever factor fitness into the hiring decision for a white collar job?

Maybe there is this situation: two candidates: one who is obviously very fit and muscular, another who is really fat and out of shape.

Would you take fitness into consideration? Assume this is a white collar job, such as software engineer or secretary…..
Also, why?

What should I wear to an interview for a fitness club summer camp position?

burtonbaby145 asked:

I have an interview for a position as a summer camp counselor at a large fitness club (lifetime fitness) on saturday. The position is described as being very active, and in the initial phone call they told me their ideal candidate is someone who is very fun and active, willing to get down and play with the children.

I am twenty years old, so i want something young and that shows I am fun. I’m stuck about how to convey that I am the sort of person they are looking for while still looking put together and professional.

Thanks for the help!
