I haven’t gone to LA fitness in over a year, I canceled my membership. I had a personal training contract as well, which has ended by now though. Everytime they call and say they are from LA fitness and ask me to update account information I hang up. Is this bad? Do you think I may owe them money, and could this mess up my credit? Or are they just calling to try to get me to join them again?

Working out is a great way to stay healthy, so why shouldn’t we get coverage for our fitness memberships? More active people = less sick people.

Can fitness centers require a visit to the facility as the only way to get a price quote for membership fees?

Sammy asked:

I’m frustrated with fitness centers that seem to weasel out of giving me membership and initiation fees over the phone. Instead, I have to go to facility and sit with one of those sales reps who’ll try to give me a tour and schmooze me. It’s the foot-in-the-door game that doesn’t work on me so it wastes my time and the sales rep’s energy/effort. Is there a way to get around it, or a way to argue that legally, they have to give me the price quote upon my request?

Thanks in advance!

If you have been (or would be) found to lack moral fitness for admission to the California state bar, it is possible to demonstrate rehabilitation. While this is certainly a difficult question, are there any guidelines for the sorts of things that might make such a showing? (Besides the opaque instructions published by the bar(!))
